Why did you choose Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
Growing up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, I always knew that I wanted to go to college somewhere with easy access to the outdoors. My other greatest priority, when deciding on what college to attend, was the quality and access to undergraduate research. Ultimately the breadth of research disciplines, academic rigor, and beautiful outdoor spaces here led me to decide on Cornell for my undergraduate career.
What is your favorite thing about Cornell and/or Cornell Engineering?
My favorite thing about Cornell Engineering is the unrivaled access to undergraduate research. Talking to professors and approaching them about their research is surprisingly easier than I expected when I first came to Cornell. It seems to me that they are very open to including undergrads in their labs and want students to be interested in their research areas.
How did you get involved outside the classroom?
Outside the classroom, I am involved in the Cornell Rock Climbing Club as well as undergraduate research in the Estroff Lab. I am also the Vice President of the Seal and Serpent Society, a co-ed social club.
